About Steve Carter

Steve Carter - 7th Place 2005 WSOP No Limit Holdem

Steve CarterSteve Carter and Doyle Brunson
Steve Carter began working with Ray Sadler in 1998 . To this day they still own and operate a screen printing and embroidery business. The same business that manufactures the shirts and hats that are sold on the Sadler and Carter Poker Supply on-line store.

Steve and Ray started playing low limit home games about seven years ago. Poker was more of a social gathering then a serious way to make money at the beginning. As the limits began to grow so did Steve's love for the game.

A few years after his poker playing began is when he and Ray came up with the idea for holding a large buy-in yearly tournament for their customers and close friends. This was the launch of the first "Executive Game Tournament". The "Executive Game" has grown to be one of the most anticipated tournaments for our friends and customers each year.

The third year of the "Executive Game" was the first time the we hand built tournament poker tables for the event. The tables were a great success and was the beginning of Sadler and Carter Poker. By the time the fourth annual tournament rolled around we had plans for opening the Sadler and Carter Poker retail and on-line store.

Sadler and Carter Poker opened there doors on Sep. 11th 2003 with great success. Within the first six months we had plans for moving to a larger location and holding freeroll qualifiers for the 2005 World Series of Poker. The freerolls were another huge success and introduced Steve and Ray to some great poker players in the Dallas area.

In June of 2005 Sadler and Carter Poker along with a couple of our new found poker buddies headed to Vegas for their first try in major tournament. The tournament was a $1,500 WSOP No Limit Hold'em event with over 2,000 players. Steve made the final table of this event with the likes of Greg Raymar, Mark Seif, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Bill Gazes. Steve got knocked out in seventh place when Bill Gazes called Steve's all-in bluff with 8 high.

Since the World Series Event Ray and Steve have played in couple of circuit events around the country as well as the 2006 $1,000 WSOP event. In 2006 the Sadler and Carter Poker group that attended the WSOP was over ten players and they are hoping for even more in 2007.

Steve continues to play poker in Dallas home games as well as some of the casinos in the surrounding areas. He still enjoys playing in No Limit tournaments and prefers to play mid-level limit hold'em cash games.
